March - Not Long Until Spring

February turned out to be a very productive month indeed. Not only did we finish off the apple green decoration but we also turned our attentions to Farrow and Ball Rectory Red! We now have two almost completed rooms which just need the finishing touches and we think that Margate Stripe will be a perfect contrast to the deep coloured red.

Attentions are now turning to the allotment. With the first hint of Spring and Easter just around the corner we have been making many plans. Maybe this year we will manage to get a few days to enjoy the allotment in our Vintage Deckchairs!

One half of the allotment is being covered with old carpets in the hope of killing off the weeds and turning into a fruit area next year. The other half is well under way - all the raised beds have been constructed, seeds chosen and the top soil and mulch are all on order. The many seed packets have been a fantastic inspiration for future fabric design and we plan to base our next wide width striped fabric on the assortment of colours found in the Cosmos packet. All will be revealed in the coming months!

February and Bright Beginnings.

We find it hard to believe that we are already one whole month into 2010 and February is upon us already!

We made numerous resolutions for the New Year - one of which was to get to grips with some reorganisation and decorating - this has been going very well indeed. Thanks to the very helpful people at Farrow and Ball we have come up with a beautiful calm apple green theme. We plan to brighten this up with window blinds made in our striking Brighton Green Stripe cotton fabric finished off with Brighton Bobble Trim.

We have a very comprehensive range of trimmings which have been specifically designed to mix and match with our striped fabric materials. The bobble trims are made up of several small cotton pom poms, each in a different colour, which look perfect as an edging to curtains, blinds and other upholstery projects.

A Winter Wonderland

What an unusual month this has been! Waking up day after day to a spectacular winter wonderland and enjoying our hot drinks in front of a glowing fire has been an absolute delight. Although hardly the time of year to be thinking of deckchairs this fabulous weather has set our imagination alight and we are proud to announce our brand new black and white Filey wide width fabric.

Filey is a classic black and white stripe fabric in 100% high quality cotton. Perfect for blinds, curtains, cushions and many other upholstery projects in the home and garden. An added bonus is that the stripes appear on both sides of the fabric due to the nature of the weave.

Although not perhaps as colourful as many of our other stripes we are sure you will agree that, in the right setting, black and white can be tasteful, stunning and make the perfect backdrop to any number of colour schemes!

In fact all of our fabrics are named after these famous seaside resorts.

You can find out a lot more about us by visiting our website www.daysgonebydeckchairs.com. Here you will find our full range of fabrics which are suitable for bags, curtains, blinds and other upholstery projects as well as a fine selection of both old and new deckchairs and director's chairs too.
